Is Surrogacy Right for Us?
Surrogacy may be right for you if:

Real Families, Real Support
Parents often tell us that feeling informed and supported mattered as much as the outcome itself.
"From the first conversation we felt understood."
"Having a case manager who had been a surrogate changed everything."
"The Escrow structure gave us peace of mind."

Quick Answers for Intended Parents
Common questions intended parents ask when starting to explore surrogacy with SAI.
Is surrogacy right for us?
Surrogacy may be right for intended parents who have medical reasons that make pregnancy unsafe, have experienced repeated IVF failure or pregnancy loss, or are LGBTQ+ couples or single parents building their family. Surrogate Alternatives also coordinates medical, legal and emotional support in one place for parents who want a guided, organized process.
What does the surrogacy process look like with Surrogate Alternatives?
The Surrogate Alternatives surrogacy process moves through four guided steps: an initial consultation with a team member who has personal surrogacy experience, surrogate matching through a national network, coordination with your fertility clinic and attorneys, and support through pregnancy, birth and bringing your baby home.
- In Step 1, intended parents share their story, goals and questions with a team member who has personal surrogacy experience, not a sales representative.
- In Step 2, Surrogate Alternatives' national network presents fully screened surrogate matches in weeks. Only about 5% of surrogate applicants are accepted after comprehensive medical, psychological and background screening.
- In Step 3, Surrogate Alternatives coordinates directly with your fertility clinic, attorneys and other professionals to keep legal, medical and logistical steps organized and predictable.
- In Step 4, the Surrogate Alternatives team supports intended parents and surrogates throughout pregnancy, delivery and planning for birth and parentage.
How does Surrogate Alternatives coordinate with our fertility clinic and attorneys?
Surrogate Alternatives coordinates directly with intended parents' fertility clinics, attorneys and other professionals to keep legal, medical and logistical steps organized and predictable throughout the surrogacy process. This coordination is a core part of how Surrogate Alternatives builds surrogacy journeys around clear expectations for intended parents.
What kind of support does Surrogate Alternatives provide during pregnancy?
Surrogate Alternatives supports intended parents and surrogates throughout pregnancy, delivery and planning for birth and parentage. Once a surrogate is matched, she is assigned a dedicated case manager, and a pregnancy support team member is added when pregnancy begins. Surrogate Alternatives also manages communication between the surrogate, intended parents, fertility clinic and OB throughout the journey.
Who on the Surrogate Alternatives team has personal surrogacy experience?
The Surrogate Alternatives team includes current and former surrogates and a former intended parent, so the people guiding families through the process understand it personally. Surrogate Alternatives is founder-led by Diana Olmeda, a former two-time surrogate and five-time egg donor who has operated the agency since 1998.
